Cornubia Hall, home of Par Bay Community Trust and part of Par Bay Big Local legacy, was funded by the National Lottery. It has been refurbished to provide a vibrant venue to serve the communities of Par, St Blazey and Tywardreath, helping to build a more resilient community by fostering social enterprise, encouraging creativity and promoting healthy living.

Our Community Garden, run by volunteers, is just across the road from Cornubia with a weekly session on Sunday mornings. Find out more here.
After the events of 2020 donations are now even more important than ever to ensure we can continue to support the communities of Par, St Blazey and Tywardreath.
Penny was a much-loved volunteer who died in June this year. She was one of our walk leaders for the Walking for Health group which starts at Cornubia every Monday, always ready to help with hot dogs for the Carnival Duck Race, Big Lunch teas, Cats Protection, car boot sales and other fund -raising events. She was a frequent visitor to the Community Garden in search of greens for her hens (her “girls”) and will be much missed by many.
In September, Penny’s daughter-in-law, Jan, has volunteered to do a sponsored run in her memory to support Cornubia. We aim to make this an annual fun run supported by local groups and organisations.
The funding will initially focus on supporting health and wellbeing activities for residents in isolation and depression and improving accessibility for those with disabilities.
We will be running the event at Par Track. You can walk or run a lap of the central track or make it a bigger challenge and do circuits on the outer loop.
You might prefer not to be in a crowd and follow your usual walk route and make it a sponsored walk or perhaps cycle 10k and get some sponsors.
