To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the publication of Daphne Du Mauriers’ book ‘The House on the Strand’  the village of Tywardreath is holding a medieval Street fair. The village is the setting for the book, which jumps back and forward in time between the medieval period and the present day. There will be fun for all the family with craft stalls all along the road that will be closed to traffic for the day and an exhibition of art by local artists. There will be games for children and the opportunity to have a go at Field Archery. There will be entertainment throughout the day with live music, maypole and traditional dancing or you could just enjoy a pint in the New Inn. Accessible by public transport by bus from St Austell and Fowey and Par mainline railway station.
