Local History

Town to Tide

Town to Tide: a theatrical adventure, an imaginative tale of the history of St Blazey and Par and their relationship with water told during a journey from Polgrean Place, through the Co-op field, the ‘Bunny Field’, St Andrews Road duck pond, Snowlands entrance, Par Running Track field, and the wooded path to Par Beach.  The action takes place along the way and the audience follow the stories and meet up with local celebrities like the Four Lords, Mr Moon, Harry Studley, Walter Bailey and others.

Part of the story of the area is told through memories from local people.  Val Brokenshire’s book ‘A Parish Portrait St Blazey’ provides some useful background history and with the help of Rogue Theatre, Liz Davies Biscovey Academy, pupils from Biscovey and local budding actors a wonderful production was born.
